Terms of Service

Last updated: August 8, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Altrove — our mobile app, website, and related services (together, the "Service"), provided by Daniel Gustafsson, Kaptensgatan 11, 211 41 Malmö, Sweden ("Altrove", "we", "us", "our"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.

1.Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to use Altrove. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this requirement and that you have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.

2.Accounts

3.Acceptable use

You agree not to:

We may investigate and take action — including removing content or suspending accounts — against anyone who violates this section.

Reporting something. If you see content on Altrove that breaks these rules, tell us. Every profile that isn't yours carries a Report control beside Block, and so does every pin that isn't yours. Pick a reason, add a note if you want to, and it reaches us. Reports are confidential: the person you report is never told who reported them.

We review every report, normally within 24 hours. Where a report is justified we remove the content, close the account, or delete it outright, depending on what we find. We won't tell you which of those we chose, because that is information about somebody else's account — but we do look at every one.

Blocking is separate, and it is always yours. It takes effect the moment you use it, it doesn't wait on us, and you can undo it whenever you like from Profile → Blocked accounts. Blocking hides someone from you; reporting asks us to take something down for everyone. Use either, or both.

4.Your content

You retain ownership of the content you add to Altrove (photos, notes, pins, collections). By submitting content, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, and display it solely to operate and provide the Service to you (and, where you've made your profile public, to the people you've chosen to share it with).

You're responsible for making sure you have the right to share any content you import or upload — including video, photos, or links from Instagram, TikTok, or YouTube.

We can remove content that breaks section 3, whether somebody reported it or we found it ourselves. To report content, use the Report control in the app (see section 3); if you can't reach it, email [email protected].

Copyright. If you believe content on Altrove infringes your copyright, email [email protected] with a description of the work, the material you believe is infringing, and your contact information, and we'll investigate and remove it where appropriate.

5.Third-party platforms & content

Altrove lets you share links from Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any of these platforms, and we don't act on their behalf. When you share a link, our servers fetch the post it points to and analyse it to work out where it was taken. We never ask for your login details for those platforms and never access your account on them. Content availability there is outside our control; a post you've already pinned may later be removed, made private, or altered by its original platform, and we're not responsible for that.

Booking and shopping links. Some links in Altrove — accommodation, activities, eSIMs, travel gear — are affiliate links, which means we may earn a commission if you buy something after following one. It never changes what you pay. We don't sell travel, take bookings, or hold your money: the transaction happens entirely on the partner's own site, under their terms, and any question about an order, a change or a refund is between you and them.

6.AI-identified locations aren't guaranteed accurate

Altrove uses AI to identify the location shown in content you share. AI identification is probabilistic and can be wrong — a pin may be placed at the wrong address, city, or even country. Always verify a location independently (opening hours, exact address, safety conditions) before relying on it to make travel plans or decisions. Altrove is not liable for losses arising from an inaccurate AI-identified location.

The same applies, and matters more, to the pre-departure briefing. Entry rules, visa requirements, health guidance and summaries of local law are AI-generated from public sources and refreshed periodically. They are a starting point, not authority, and they are not legal, immigration or medical advice. Anything that would ruin a trip if it were wrong — visas, vaccinations, how much passport validity a country demands — must be confirmed with the official source for your destination and the passport you travel on before you book or travel.

7.Subscriptions, credits & payments

8.Our intellectual property

The Altrove name, logo, app, and website — excluding your content and content from third-party platforms — are owned by us or our licensors and protected by intellectual property law. These Terms don't grant you any right to use our branding except as necessary to use the Service as intended.

9.Disclaimer of warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, OR THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT ANY LOCATION, RATING, OR OTHER INFORMATION SHOWN IN THE APP IS ACCURATE OR COMPLETE.

We don't guarantee that imports from third-party platforms, AI processing, notifications, or any other feature will always work as expected — bugs, downtime, and failed imports can happen, and we make no promise they won't.

10.Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, ALTROVE AND ITS OWNERS, EMPLOYEES, AND CONTRACTORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF (OR INABILITY TO USE) THE SERVICE — INCLUDING LOSSES CAUSED BY SERVICE INTERRUPTIONS, DATA LOSS DURING IMPORT OR SYNC, INACCURATE AI-IDENTIFIED LOCATIONS, OR THIRD-PARTY PLATFORM CHANGES — EVEN IF WE'VE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AROSE, OR (B) 100 USD (OR THE EQUIVALENT IN YOUR LOCAL CURRENCY).

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law — including, in some jurisdictions, liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or willful misconduct, or statutory consumer-protection rights that can't be waived by contract. Some jurisdictions don't allow the exclusion of certain warranties or the limitation of certain damages, so some of the above limits may not apply to you.

11.Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold Altrove harmless from any claim, liability, damages, and costs (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your misuse of the Service, your content, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.

12.Suspension & termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the Service — we'll give reasonable notice where we can. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (ownership, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, governing law) will continue to apply.

Where we act on a report, that means removing the content, closing the account, or deleting it. A closed account stops working straight away and its public profile and shared trips stop resolving. We keep a record of the decision and why it was made. Decisions are made by a person, not automatically. If you think we've got one wrong, email [email protected] and somebody will look at it again.

13.Changes to the Service or these Terms

We may modify or discontinue features of the Service at any time. We may also update these Terms; if we make material changes, we'll notify you in the app or by email before they take effect. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

14.Governing law & disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Sweden, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where mandatory consumer-protection law in your country of residence gives you additional rights that can't be contracted away — those rights still apply. Any dispute not resolved informally will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Sweden, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
